The Sportsfest 2008 officially began last 15 April 2008. It started with the cheer dance and fun run. Then yesterday our team, basketball ladies had our first game. Unfortunately we lost against forever rival the NCBL team known as the green team. It could be a bad start but it doesn’t matter, what really matters is the end result. So let me first introduce my new team. Since Ems Deomano is out of IRRI, I moved up to her position as the team captain of the YELLOW DRIBBLING BABES. The forever teammates whose still there were Alice Laborte (the best blocker in IRRI), Reena Sellamathu (the power babe, our deadly weapon), Tina Paule (she gave blood for this team, nosebleed that is), Meggy Katimbang (our all-around not just pretty face girl), Anilyn Maningas (soooo gentle giant), Melanie Quinto (always willing to be in the team), Sarah Beebout (the Scientist even inside the court) and of course me (the only boy in the team). Our new member were Jenine Altoveros (good ball handler and nice form), Jocee Tabali (much like Melanie), Lorelie dela Cruz (the all around giant player), Impa Somayanda (constant practice and she’ll be Reena in the future), Gaye Cuerdo (another all around low post girl) I haven’t seen her in any practice but she’s on the list Precy Comia (wondering if she’s really going to play). And we have a new coach in the person of Barry Peralta. New team composition, new coach, new play, new chemistry but one thing haven’t change, still less practice but girls enjoying the game. I guess with this new team I’ll get the taste of Championship this season. Not a bad season to retire =)...
