Silence!

According to Michael Molines there are three kinds of silence: a silence of words, a silence of desires and a silence of thoughts. A silence of words, not speaking, this I think I can manage to work in me. The silence of desires or not wanting, to some extent, like material things that wouldn't be a problem for me also. But the third, the silence of thoughts or reasoning, that would be a challenge. It’s very difficult to shut down. This is the best kind of silence Michael added. This is what the Psalmist’s called “the be still.” It’s the center of our being, where we allow who or what would seat and abide. If we could only always think and let God be God in that seat, we could truly be in stillness. It’s in that silence that we can hear God’s voice. In silence, you can know “YOU”. In silence, there is clarity. There is peace a midst chaos.
